All for ending homelessness. Do you have any examples how smaller communities (10,000) have been able to address homelessness when faced with sudden influxes. The unrest in Peru has sent almost 1000 people to Blaine County ID, a community that previously had almost no homelessness. We could use some strategies. thx. boylehp@yahoo.com

Hi Perry, good to hear from you. I think the example of Medicine Hat in the newsletter is instructive as it only has a population of around 60,000. However, I think the additional challenge here is that the influx was also sudden (whereas most communities are dealing with longer term chronic issues).

Secondly, I think looking at this challenge from the refugee crisis lens (as I note in my caveats section) may also be helpful.
